News: Mindhive Global joins the FernMark licence programme
Mindhive Global is excited to announce that they recently became a Licensee of the official FernMark Licence Programme. It’s a programme designed to protect and promote New Zealand products and services to the world, which is why it’s a great move for Mindhive Global (Mindhive). Equally, being a FernMark Licensee now makes Mindhive an ambassador for the New Zealand story, which is both a privilege and an exciting opportunity.
The FernMark Licence Programme is the New Zealand government’s official ‘country of origin’ accreditation programme. That means Mindhive Global as a brand has met the New Zealand government’s eligibility criteria, which includes being a New Zealand registered business that is maintaining a substantial level of New Zealand ownership, governance, and employees, and has export experience. This criteria also requires that Mindhive’s product and services are made, grown or designed in Aotearoa New Zealand, which is why the government is happy for them to represent New Zealand around the world.
The FernMark Licence Programme is managed by New Zealand Story as the custodian of the New Zealand FernMark trademark. David Downs, CEO at New Zealand Story says:
"We're excited to welcome Mindhive Global to the FernMark Licence Programme. Aligning with the FernMark highlights their authenticity and strong connection to Aotearoa New Zealand while offering a trusted mark in global markets. Mindhive’s cutting-edge use of AI and automation in the leather industry is a great example of a New Zealand company leading the way in technology and innovation."
Asked why Mindhive applied to become a FernMark Licensee, James Bayly, CEO explained,
“At Mindhive Global, delivering world-class leather grading is at the heart of what we do. Becoming a FernMark Licensee strengthens our commitment to trusted, high-quality solutions, backed by New Zealand’s reputation on the world stage. This recognition enhances our visibility in key international markets, showcasing the integrity behind our New Zealand-made technology.”
“Ultimately, the FernMark Licence Programme delivers consumer trust. Carrying the FernMark means New Zealand exporters are able to authenticate their products and services as being of New Zealand, and consumers can trust that what they are purchasing is authentic. In turn, the Programme entrusts us to represent New Zealand at its best. It’s a win-win situation.”
