Mindhive BlueSelect™ is an AI-powered leather grading system for wet-blue and wet-white hides. It integrates behind existing sammying machines, operates at full line speed (up to 360 hides per hour), and grades each hide in 4 seconds. The system detects 30+ defect classes with defect resolution down to the size of a hair follicle.
Powered by a proprietary neural network trained on over 20 million hides (and counting), BlueSelect™ maps the percentage of detected defects across batches, measures total and cuttable area at pixel level, and applies your grading rules to every hide (tier dependent). The result is a verified grade that stays with the hide through every downstream decision.
The hide grade is displayed on an industrial touchscreen for manual sorting, or integrated directly into downstream automation systems such as auto stackers.

Mindhive BlueSelect™ is constructed from stainless steel and integrates with existing wringing processes, designed to fit conveyors and outfeeds. The imaging hardware is highly tolerant of variable conditions and processes images in real time on site.
Industrial-grade interactive touchscreens display a detailed defect map, usable and cuttable hide area, and the assigned grade. The system communicates directly to PLCs and auto stackers.
Deployments typically take only a few days, with minimal downtime. Mindhive has implemented systems in busy tanneries without disrupting production.
